Skills that give women a livelihood of their own
A program built around two things a woman needs to stand on her own feet: a trade she can earn from, and a group of women who help each other save, plan and grow.
Prerana focuses on women — helping them build a working skill and a support system that lasts beyond the classroom. It runs on two verticals that work together: a hands-on livelihood program, and a savings-and-planning group that keeps that income working for the family.
One builds the skill. The other makes it last.
Livelihood
Tailoring on industrial machines
60+ women are training on industrial-grade tailoring machines under a dedicated teacher who works with real commitment — the kind of training that makes them ready to work at a company, take on stitching orders directly, or build a small business of their own.
Self-Help Groups
Savings & financial literacy
Women organise into small savings groups, meeting regularly to pool small amounts, learn basic bookkeeping, and plan for expenses like school fees or emergencies — turning a tailoring income into something the whole family can rely on.
