Aksharabhyas Learning Center

Aksharabhyas Learning Center is an educational initiative for children living in slum areas in Bangalore.
Among various problems faced by the children of families living in the slums, the most prominent one is their lack of access to elementary education, especially for children in the age group of 6-14 years. Other significant problems include the large size of families in a contrastingly smaller shelter, lack of a proper home, poor health, unfavourable conditions due to the surrounding environment, difficulty in communication, unstable occupations of adults as well as the lack of economic stability.

At Kritagyata, we wish to do all that we can to make these conditions easier in whatever way possible. The Akshar Abhyas learning center aims to teach young children in such areas to ensure their elementary education is taken care of in the ways that can be managed by our team. We cover areas in and around Pulaganahalli and Taridalu, and have more than 24 children in our learning center, who study with teachers assigned by us for two hours on a daily basis.
